It’s surprising, as Sony tends to avoid events (a few examples: E3 2019, Gamescom 2019…), and despite this approach, they decided that they will be out in France at Paris Games Week, which is the country’s mini E3…
Paris Games Week, which will be held from October 3 till November 3, will be in Paris’ Porte de Versailles, featuring some of Sony’s events. They will have some eSports tournaments as well (we’ll write the qualifying starting dates in brackets). Mortal Kombat 11 (October 3), NBA 2K20 (October 9), FIFA 20 (October 11), Street Fighter V (October 14) – these four games will be out in the shape of a tournament at the Paris Games Week. You can register from your PlayStation 4 (Tournaments tab under Events), or you can sign up via this website.
If you have the Experience PlayStation app, which is available on both Android and iOS, then you can partake in more events. You can reserve slots for using a PlayStation VR (and there might be other unannounced surprises here as well), know the program of the booth, the stage and eSports activities, all in real-time, and, if you are a PlayStation Plus member, you will get the bracelets giving priority access, which should reduce the waiting time by 30%. (How will this approach work? It sounds good on paper, but in practice, things might be different… but that’s not our problem but the organisers’!)
So Sony is going to have some surprises in store for us, and we seem to recall them saying they still have some unannounced PlayStation 4 titles as well (with the console potentially hitting 110 million sales by the end of the year), but we’re merely guessing at this point.
So, Paris Games Week, from October 30 to November 3.
