Transient: The First Gameplay Video [VIDEO]

Stormling Studios‘ game, Transient will combine the H. P. Lovecraft style with cyberpunk – Iceberg Interactive might publish an intriguing game shortly.

„In a distant, post-apocalyptic future, what remains of the population of mankind lives in an enclosed citadel called Domed City Providence, created to survive the harsh outside environment. In this, mankind’s final refuge, Randolph Carter, a member of a notorious hacker-for-hire group called ODIN, accidentally stumbles across the terrifying truth, a truth that might tear apart his sanity and lead him to question his very existence.

H.P. Lovecraft meets Cyberpunk. Delve deep into an obscure dystopian world and hold firm to your consciousness while you explore enigmatic networks where change is permanent but the reality is only temporary. To find out what is going on, traverse between real and artificially created worlds. Ominous but lush graphics created with Unreal Engine 4. Secrets and easter eggs. A haunting and atmospheric soundtrack,” Iceberg Interactive’s press release says.

The first gameplay video doesn’t seem bad, but the NPCs (the non-playable characters) should get some life, as they don’t look that good currently, even though the environment and the gameplay feels solid already. Thankfully, Stormling has a lot of time to get things right, and the Unreal Engine 4 might get the job done, although it might still have the old issue of loading textures properly in front of us. The soundtrack and the idea aren’t bad either – Transient will likely not have issues with these. The devs seem to be on the right path.

Transient doesn’t have an exact release date yet – it is planned to launch next year, in 2020, at an unknown period on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (possibly Steam, unless the devs and the publisher end up choosing the Epic Games Store instead).

She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
