Several Things Will Be Missing In Resident Evil 3 Remake

Compared to the PS1 original, the Resident Evil 3 Remake, in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, will be lacking a few things.

In the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, more details showed up about Resident Evil 3 Remake, which might look better than the original, but it might not have more content. In the original game, the Tyrant called Nemesis made you do quick decisions several times throughout the adventure. It resulted in several branches in the gameplay, then you had one of several endings. If you reached the end of the game, you could play the mini-game called Mercenaries, where you had to control one of the three mercenaries to get from one end of Raccoon City to the other. You could get more time by killing zombies and enemies, and if you used the explosive items scattered on the cities, combos could give you even more time. You could also save citizens to get a better rating, which could help you to even unlock a rocket launcher in the base game.

We can mostly forget about these in Remake. We will not have multiple endings, and there will also be no Mercenaries mini-game either! Peter Fabiano, a producer of Capcom, told it to the Official PlayStation Magazine UK. Instead, we’ll get the 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer, Resident Evil Resistance. What a shame! Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (the original’s name) offered replayability with these extras to not finish the game just once…

„Witness the climactic events of Raccoon City in a completely reimagined Resident Evil 3. This highly demanded follow-up in the 94 million unit selling franchise comes on the heels of the award-winning Resident Evil 2 and completes the Raccoon City story arc. Resident Evil 3 will also include the online four-versus-one asymmetric multiplayer experience Resident Evil Resistance when it releases on April 3, 2020, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam),” Capcom wrote in December when Resident Evil 3 Remake was announced.

Oh well.
