GTA IV: The Complete Edition – This version features both expansions from the Rockstar Games game released in 2008.
At the beginning of the year, Grand Theft Auto IV was retired from Steam due to the disappearance of Games for Windows. With his absence, Rockstar promised the return of his game with a very interesting incentive for its owners, something that has been fulfilled this week. And is that anyone who had the base game of GTA IV on Steam, or GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, has just received the full edition of the title for free.
As the studio promised, all players who own either of those two titles will be able to find GTA IV: The Complete Edition right now within their Steam library. An edition of the previous generation game that, as its name points out, comes with the original game and the two great expansions it had: The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Of course, those who had either of those two games installed before the change will only have to download an update from Steam to go to this full edition, a 6 GB download for those who had GTA IV, and 22 GB for those of the pack of expansions. Likewise, all the save files of those games will be compatible with the new version.
Finally, and with the disappearance of the old Games for Windows service, this new version will be devoid of multiplayer and bookmarking features. Additionally, Steam Achievements will be locked until the 24th, when the edition goes on sale, and the following radio stations are temporarily unavailable: RamJam FM, Self-Update FM, and Vice City FM.
