Biohazard Declassified published new rumours about Capcom’s game.
The site (which uses the Japanese original name of Resident Evil, Biohazard) has previously shared the name of the game (that’s why we call it as such now), as well as the witch-like enemies. Now, they discussed even more rumours that make the game exciting.
The story is said to have a big focus on occultism. There will be a cult that worships the creatures that are created/mutated with/by a new virus. The main villain is called Alan R. This person lives in the castle that was previously mentioned a few times. The secondary villain will be Alex Wesker to provide a link into the previous Resident Evil games. That’s going to be interesting, as the plot says she is dead, but since she’s in Resident Evil: Resistance, we’re probably going to see Capcom use some sort of a loophole.
The game will also bring a new playable character, whose name is Emily. She is a mountain resident who will help Ethan, and she grew up in the village. She’s now looking for her father. There will also be a new mechanic, and if you played Doom 3 and hated how the game was too dark, prepare to be angry once again as you crank up the brightness: the flashlight is going to be included. It will run out of power, so you will have to wait for it to recharge. The game is going to be dark when it comes to lighting, the rumour says.
The twist here is that Mia and Ethan are allegedly having a child, but it will be mutated due to the Resident Evil 7 infection, and Chris Redfield will break into Ethan’s house, killing the baby, and then shooting Mia. The new Resident Evil’s enemies will be pale and human-like, but there will also be dogs, wolves, and later, werewolf-like creatures in the previously mentioned „darkest and most gruesome” Resident Evil game yet.
Resident Evil 8 is rumoured to launch in the first quarter of 2021 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Nothing is official yet, though – even the game hasn’t been announced yet!
