Two days ago came the news that Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm got a permanent ban on Twitch, supposedly for good reason. People started getting their money invested in subscriptions back, so it became more and more suspicious that this time it was about more than the platform’s increasingly violent DMCA detection policy. Everyone talked about the seriousness of the case, rumours have spread that this time it will be an unavoidable and irreversible punishment. After everyone was upset enough, Twitch also spoke on the matter:
“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”
What made the case even more special was that Dr Disrespect had been quite calm lately, having had no controversies for more than a year.
Last year’s scandal in a nutshell: the doc broadcasted live from the E3 as he urinates in the bathroom… He already got a ban for that, but he seemed to get away with everything, which is no wonder: he had a $ 10 million for a year contract with Twitch. But the good world seems to be over now.
Champions Club,
Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision… Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.

“Champions Club! Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision… Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.” – Beahm writes.
While Disrespect is silent about what he’s done again, the always tight-lipped Twitch in this regard isn’t even willing to admit that his member account has been suspended at all.
In any case, it’s interesting that it all happened just a day after Twitch announced that it would now reward sexual harassment and assault with a ban.
In fact, we don’t even have an idea about exactly what happened with Beahm and why he disappeared on Friday, as Twitch didn’t even provide definite information about Dr Disrespect’s ban even at The Verge’s request.
The Twitter post above clearly suggests that Twitch was in the wrong. However, it cannot be ruled out that the streamer himself decided to remove his account, however unlikely it may be. After three sources confirmed anonymously on Twitter, Kotaku also learned that yes, Twitch banned Disrespect.
What is the truth then?
Anyone who’s asked, they don’t give their faces, everyone is talking about a „sensitive topic”. What could have happened?
Well, all we know for now is that Disrespect is gone from Twitch and his viewers are getting their money back. As soon as we know more, we will respond with the latest news.
In the meantime, a little rumour: Ninja, Shroud, and Dr Disrespect are said to have planned to leave the Twitch surface together to move their viewers to Brime. Well, according to the rumour making the rounds on the internet, Twitch sniffed out Dr Disrespect’s plan and could have banned him as soon as he encouraged his viewers to switch platforms…
