The French company cannot stop leaks whatsoever.
You might think we’re joking, but no – we already discussed a Ubisoft leak in the news (and the company will be mentioned for another reason later today, too), which is somewhat of a joke at this point. Still, Far Cry 6 leaks like there is no tomorrow.
„Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution.
[…] Play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran and become a guerrilla fighter to liberate the nation. Fight against Anton’s troops in the largest Far Cry playground to date across jungles, beaches and Esperanza the capital city of Yara. Employ makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground.
Pre-order now to get a state-of-the-art “Discos Locos” weapon and a skin for Chorizo. Upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version: This digital Far Cry 6 PlayStation 4 game gives access to the corresponding Far Cry 6 PlayStation 5 digital version at no additional cost, when available,” Hong Kong’s PlayStation Store displayed. The page is no longer available. We’ll talk about Diego a bit later. But first, here’s the leaked trailer below.
Now let’s take a look at this comparison made by IGN’s Joe Skrebels below.
Interesting. Diego’s scar seems to be exactly where Far Cry 3’s iconic character, Vaas had it, albeit not in the game. His actor, Michael Mando, did sport this scar in one appearance as Vaas, and we previously wrote about him that he said Vaas is his spirit animal and that he wouldn’t rule the character’s return out. It’s not hard to tie the two dots, isn’t it?
Far Cry 6 will be part of today’s Ubisoft Forward, as even the publisher itself responded to the leaks. The problem is that the video also confirms the release date! Far Cry 6 is launching on February 18 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store/uPlay), Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One!
So. Is Diego in Far Cry 6 meant to be a young Vaas from Far Cry 3? pic.twitter.com/4trOhRtEhy
