MOVIE NEWS – Its premiere is scheduled for mid-2021, with the Spider-Man actor as the protagonist.
The story of the Uncharted movie seems more like an endless story. After years of changes, and of comings and goings of directors, 2020 seemed the year chosen for this PlayStation Productions project based on the Naughty Dog saga, although the coronavirus caused yet another delay in its dates. Now, and with the partial lifting of preventive measures, the Uncharted film has begun filming.
Through Instagram, actor Tom Holland (Spider-Man) confirms the beginning of the recording of this video game movie. ” Day one #Uncharted, ” says the star who will play Nathan Drake in the adaptation, along with a photo of what appears to be his chair on set with the character’s name printed. Uncharted was to begin filming in March 2020, but with the viral outbreak booming, Sony Pictures decided to postpone production indefinitely, in addition to delaying the film’s release until July 2021.
However, after assessing the evolution of the situation, the company brought forward the film’s release date in April by a few months, and will now debut on July 16, 2021, within an exact year. With Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland) as director, the Uncharted film begins filming along with Tom Holland in the title role, and actors like Antonio Banderas linked to the project. In addition to Mark Wahlberg, who was originally scheduled to play Drake, but who will eventually fill the role of Victor Sullivan in the film.
At the beginning of the year, we read Holland’s statements in which the actor stated that the Uncharted film will avoid the curse of video game adaptations in Hollywood, although at the moment its production has not been as simple as it would have liked.
