Mass Effect creator BioWare has now allowed some insight into the background of making their new RPG – and yes, Dragon Age 4 is coming!
BioWare has been working on a new instalment of the Dragon Age saga for some time, but it has not been until now when its progress has been officially and bluntly discussed. Mark Darrah, a veteran producer of the franchise, has been one of the first to set off alarms back in 2019, but now he has got to the point confirming its development.
I realize that most of you are here for Dragon Age news and there hasn’t been a lot of that lately…
Let me just run down some things I an say:
1. We are working on the next Dragon Age
2. Yes we are working from home
3. Working from home is harder
4. We are making progress— Mark Darrah (@BioMarkDarrah) July 22, 2020
„I realize that most of you are here for Dragon Age news and there hasn’t been a lot of that lately…”
We are working on the next Dragon Age. Yes we are working from home. Working from home is harder. We are making progress.
Although the development of the new Dragon Age was an open secret, it was last month when BioWare showed the first brushstrokes of the projects it is working on, now we can be sure that Dragon Age 4 (unofficial name) was one of them.
The studio is working from home because of the pandemic.
In addition, last year, Kotaku magazine published a special report dedicated to Dragon Age 4 in which they offered supposed details about the project. Among them are the commitment to a new direction of the game that would revolve around a service. It was also said to be “smaller than Dragon Age: Inquisition, but much larger in player choice, and in greater depth.”
It is still early to know if these latest statements are true, but now, with the confirmation of the game’s own producer, it only remains to wait for BioWare to decide to show new details about this next instalment of Dragon Age.
