New PlayStation ‘State of Play’ event with PS5 games

But just be careful with those expectations – both the PlayStation 4 and PS VR will get airtime with Crash Bandicoot 4 starring.

If you were wanting to know more details about the first PlayStation 5 games, Sony has just announced that on August 6 it will celebrate a new State of Play with information about several titles that are about to arrive on their next-generation console, without losing the opportunity to talk about other video games published by third parties preparing to launch on PS4 and PS VR.

The new State of Play will last about 40 minutes and will have Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time as one of its great protagonists, who will be in charge of opening this event. The PS5 games? Sony confirms that we will see “a couple of updates” of third-party and indie games that we already met during the presentation of PS5 in June. So there will be no surprises in the form of new projects, nor more details of the games on the PlayStation itself.

“To be clear: there will be no updates to PlayStation Studios this Thursday. There will be no updates on hardware, sales, reservations or dates. On Thursday we focused exclusively on showing you some cool games that will reach the expanding PlayStation ecosystem,” you can read on the official PlayStation blog. The event can be followed through the official channels of PlayStation on August 6 at 22:00 PST (see the schedule by country).

Taking Sony’s words into account, the news about PS5 games could be related to titles such as Hitman 3, Project Athia from Square Enix or Little Devil Inside, although no more details about it are known at the moment. The announcement of the new State of Play comes shortly after it is confirmed that the DualShock 4 will not work with PS5 games
