Xbox Series X’ User Interface Resolution Is Surprisingly Low!

The games optimised for Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S have also been confirmed.

Sony has surprisingly revealed the user interface (UI) of the PlayStation 5 (it will be discussed later today), but they haven’t said much about the new PlayStation Store (oh well, we already did that earlier today), and John Linneman, an editor of DigitalFoundry, said the following on Twitter: „The big problem for me, more than anything, with the Xbox dash is the low resolution. I was disappointed with Xbox One X only offering 1080p UI rendering when [the] PlayStation 4 Pro did native 4K but for 1080p UI to continue on Series X… that’s not acceptable to me.” The PlayStation 5 meanwhile offers 4K and HDR support at the same time!

This could cause a headache or two if you jump out of an Xbox Series X game on 4K resolution to the user interface on 1080p. However, keep in mind that a lower resolution requires less CPU and GPU power, and this resolution would be supported on the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X as well. In case you haven’t turned your Xbox One on recently, turn it on now to have the new UI which will also be used on the two Xbox Series consoles.

Microsoft also announced the list of games that will be optimised for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The thirty games are the following:
