PlayStation 5: Sony’s Marketing Uses A Rapper [VIDEO]

Sometimes, we can’t understand how Sony pulls moves as such when it comes to marketing.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced on the PlayStation Blog that they formes a strategic creative partnership with rapper Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack brand. „We heard Travis is a huge PlayStation fan, so we started a conversation with him that led to this unique partnership. Through our mutual passion for gaming and creativity, we plan on collaborating with Travis and his Cactus Jack brand to produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans.

Travis’ deep knowledge and fond memories about PlayStation as a brand, our products, and games will inspire his work with us from start to finish. He is an amazing creator, and we strive to work with the best creative minds inside and outside of our industry to continue to surprise the world in a way that only PlayStation can,” said Sony Interactive Entertainment worldwide marketing senior vice president Eric Lempel.

„I’m looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team. Most importantly I’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family [will] respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!”, Travis Scott added. The video he created can be seen below, and it also features a few people that worked on the PlayStation 5 (such as Hideaki Nishino, SIE’s platform planning and management senior vice president, and Yasuhiro Ootori SIE’s hardware design division mechanical design department vice president).

We haven’t heard of him, but seeing his social media numbers (12.7 million YouTube subscribers, 34.6 million Instagram followers, 9.3 million Twitter followers) show why Sony contacted him: he can be a big influencer in the marketing. The PlayStation 5 Standard Edition (500 USD/EUR) and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition (400 USD/EUR) will launch on November 12/19 (United States/Europe).

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
