So far, we didn’t know if Arkane Lyon‘s next game is going to be available via Valve‘s digital storefront, but it has been confirmed. There, the DualSense is also working now… partially.
In Deathloop, our goal is to eliminate eight targets on an island within twenty-four hours to break the time loop. One of the assassins wants to escape, and the other one was hired to get rid of him, and this is where the multiplayer component kicks in: the second assassin can be controlled by a player to ruin the other’s day (in multiple ways if you think about it).
The duel between Colt and Julianna will not be a small thing, and it looks like after Dishonored 2, Arkane Lyon could be up to another big game, which was previously planned to launch later this year. However, due to the coronavirus global pandemic, Deathloop has been delayed to May 21, 2021. The 60 USD/EUR version on Steam gives you a character skin, while the Digital Deluxe version for twenty more nets you several more skins, as well as shiny gun skins – so cosmetic stuff for the most part. It’ll also have Denuvo DRM.
By then, the DualSense, the new controller of the PlayStation 5, might receive full support on Steam. Its new beta client added „initial input support” for it, noting that „advanced features such as rumble, trackpad, and gyro are not yet supported.” It’s still something: we can’t get everything immediately, and sure, the new Xbox Series controller is supported on Gabe Newell’s platform (although with issues – the new update stops recognising it as two separate controllers), but the DualSense is some advanced piece of kit.
And we said, „not yet supported.” So it might be updated shortly by Valve and Sony so that the developers can fully utilize its abilities.
