There is no Christmas without Epic Games Store giveaways.
Recently, we mentioned that Epic Games Store is giving away a free game each day, starting from December 17, and all you have to do is add said title to your account, and then download the Epic Games Launcher to access the game(s). The first game was Cities: Skylines. It was followed by Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, then The Long Dark. (So far, none of these games was repeats from previous giveaways via Tim Sweeney’s digital store.)
Now, this tweet lists the next games. We’ll list them without commentary: Defense Grid, Alien: Isolation, Metro 2033 (probably its Redux version…), Tropico 5, Inside, Darkest Dungeon, My Time in Portia, Night in the Woods, Stranded Deep, Solitairica, Torchlight II, Jurassic World Evolution. Two of them are repeats, as Inside and Metro Redux were previously a freebie on the Epic Games Store. Hold on, but Darkest Dungeon is not available on the store, only its sequel is! A data miner reveals that it’s going to show up shortly, and we have recently seen games debut as a free giveaway (a prime example of it could be Total War: Troy).
Epic Games Store had a similar deal last year, and it also saw the list leaked (Grand Theft Auto V, Civilization VI, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, followed by Ark: Survival Evolved), but it was partially correct. It looks like the situation might be similar this year, too – Epic Games might be tracking the press to see if they need to respond, and they can change their plans behind the scenes. It wouldn’t be surprising if that was the case.
So Epic Games Store is once again taking the competition to Steam to end this year as well.
