Insomniac Games‘ next title will launch shortly, and Sony Interactive Entertainment will showcase more of it in a couple of days.
The new video features the female Lombax previously showcased in other media. Let’s see what Marcus Smith, the creative director of Insomniac Games, had to say on the PlayStation Blog: „Rivet is a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension, where organic life is hunted by the evil Emperor Nefarious. You saw brand-new locations like Nefarious City, and alternate-dimension twists on old favourites like Sargasso and Torren IV along with a sneak-peak at some new weapons and gameplay mechanics.”
Smith also revealed the composer of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart: „The song we chose for the trailer has special meaning beyond just being a great, exciting track. It is from the (Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame nominated) band DEVO, a personal favourite of mine, but, some would say, more importantly, the band that the incomparable Mark Mothersbaugh co-founded. I’m excited to announce that Mark is the Composer of the Rift Apart soundtrack! Beyond his work in DEVO, you’ve likely heard his compositions across the years whether it was in the original three Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter games, as well as animated series like Rugrats, and the blockbuster film: Thor Ragnarok. We are so thrilled to be collaborating with Mark and cannot wait for you to hear the incredible score he’s come up with.” You can listen to three samples by clicking on the song titles: Rift Apart, Ride Through the Omniverse, Ode to Nefarious.
The game’s Digital Deluxe Edition will contain five bonus armour suits, which are the following: the Imperial, Scavenger, Android, Rebel, and Hacker suits. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, according to Sony on Twitter, will have a State of Play broadcast, starting at 2 PM Pacific on April 29 on YouTube and Twitch. „Feast your eyes on more than 15 minutes of new Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart footage, plus a quick look at a pair of upcoming indie titles. There won’t be any hardware or business-focused updates in this show—just loads of explodey goodness from Insomniac Games,” Sony wrote.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on June 11.
