The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Is Getting Another Re-Release!

Bethesda’s next cash-grab move will be called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition.

Bethesda Game Studios has launched The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ten years ago (and its opening cart sequence almost got broken by a single bee…) on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, and since then, it has become somewhat of a meme how Todd Howard and the team release it on every other platform. The list now gets expanded by the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, but don’t worry: the Anniversary Edition, which will celebrate the tenth anniversary of Skyrim, will also be on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

What does this version contain? If you have Skyrim’s Special Edition on PC, there’s not much of a reason to acquire the Anniversary version, even if it brings over five hundred elements of the Creation Club. Sure, you can upgrade, but it won’t be free. However, the PlayStation 4 > PlayStation 5 and Xbox One > Xbox Series upgrade paths will be free. If you stay on the game’s Special Edition, you still get free content from the Creation Club: Saints and Seducers (quests), Survival Mode, and Fishing.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition will contain the Creation Club (bringing new quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, and spells), as well as the three expansions called Dragonborn, Dawnguard, and Hearthfire. If you pick The Elder Scrolls’ currently newest main instalment for the first time via the Anniversary Edition (as TES VI is still a couple of years away), then this could be a good opportunity.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition will continue the neverending story on November 11, as this is when Todd Howard’s game will be launched (again) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but the new platforms (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series) will get it on the same, too.
