Exclusive interview with Ryan Reynolds about video games and the making of Free Guy

Is there anyone who doesn’t already know about one of this year’s most anticipated films? Now find out more about Free Guy!

Ryan Reynolds gets out of programming as a non-player character (NPC) in a video game in the action-comedy Free Guy. He learns he’s part of a massively multiplayer game called Free City after he starts wearing the sunglasses of one of the game’s real players.

But how much of the film was inspired by video game culture? Why not make a film about a real game? Why choose a fictional story? How risky is it to make a video game movie nowadays, when most of them are flops? BBC Click’s Marc Cieslak chatted to actor and producer Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy to find out more about one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters!
