MOVIE NEWS – Oscar Isaac may soon play Marc Spector in the Moon Knight series, but it’s not the only iconic role the Dune star is set to take on. Isaac has already landed the role of Solid Snake in the planned Metal Gear Solid movie, and the actor has now revealed why he’s taken on the role of Konami’s special agent.
We will see him in action very soon with a leading role in the film adaptation of Dune. Still, Oscar Isaac is already well known in Hollywood for his films such as Ex Machina, Star Wars or X-Men Apocalypse, among others. He will be the one who brings the legendary Solid Snake to life in the film based on Metal Gear Solid and directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
Although we still do not know many details of the film, the Guatemalan has expressed himself in an interview in which he is asked about his presence, already confirmed, in the adaptation to the big screen of the saga created by Hideo Kojima. And he has not hesitated to express his fascination with the Metal Gear universe in statements to Total Film.
“I love the game. I love the feeling it gives me every time I play. It is an adventure in which you feel isolated, sad and lonely. Still, it also has incredible moments of violence and terror, mixing these concepts with strange and psychedelic villains “, says Isaac, who continues: “The truth is that, deep down, it is a story against war. So I think those are the elements that I love. And so, I began to wonder how these concepts can be transferred in an exciting way in a film.”
The Metal Gear Solid movie takes several years to come true due to several external factors. It was initially announced in 2006 and was due to be released in 2011, but several changes in production followed. Currently, it is taking its initial steps, but if the presence of Oscar Isaac was confirmed last December, it is because it seems that everything has been channelled, and the premiere is closer than it looks.
