Tormented Souls, announced in August 2020, didn’t make a big impression.
It’s true, though, that the number of public releases has been relatively few and fairly discreet. But the horror game, developed by Abstract Digital, offers a concept that will appeal to fans of the genre, with Silent Hill and Resident Evil-inspired titles that hark back to the genre’s old titles.
Gamescom has recently concluded, so the release of Tormented Souls has gone a little unnoticed. However, the title is now available for PC and PlayStation 5 in digital form, but for the PlayStation version, there’s also a physical version available, which you can find on Amazon for around thirty euros.
In this horror game, we follow Caroline Walker as she ventures into an abandoned mansion turned hospital where a series of horrific events have taken place. In its approach and gameplay – and the developers are making no secret of this – the software is heavily inspired by the first Resident Evil and Silent Hill, notably the fixed camera angles or the way levels are structured with the search for resources and puzzles to solve.
Tormented Souls is available now on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, and is expected to launch later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
