Marvel’s Midnight Suns is again back with some meaty gameplay and developer commentary that runs for twenty minutes.
A new development stream was published today by the developers – Firaxis Games. The stream was even advertised with a unique poster showing Wolverine facing off against his eternal nemesis Sabertooth.
The developer commentary goes into many details for the mechanics of the card system, movement system and shows more gameplay from The Abbey. There are a few interesting tidbits, such as missions starting being more seamless, rather than relying on loading screens, a character called Magik now opens portals, where you go through a place called Limbo, and then to the actual mission place.
Player character movement also does not seem to consume action points, and the only time Heroism is spent (action points) is when the player uses abilities. So when the player controls a superhero, they can technically position themselves perfectly all the time.
I do have one issue with this developer commentary video, and it is not with the game itself but with the audio quality when the developers speak. It is echoey, plus there is some issue with the editing and takes away from the quality of the footage; hopefully, they will reupload it to fix this audio/editing issue.
See the developer commentary below and also the cool poster they posted for the reveal.
