MOVIE NEWS – A new image of Tom Hardy has further fuelled the theory that Venom will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The long-awaited crossover between Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could happen much sooner than first thought, as Hardy is being cast as Spider-Man: No Way Home production cap as he prepares for the press tour for Sony’s upcoming sequel, Venom 2 – The Bleeder. While this is far from a confirmation (Tom Hardy does like to wear a baseball cap after all), it could be that the actor is just having some fun and teasing fans about what to expect in the highly anticipated Spider-Man sequel.

Further reinforcing this theory, it appears that the image was first shared by TV director Lin Oeding and has since been removed, suggesting that Tom Hardy’s hat-wearing does indeed contain potential spoilers. Of course, it’s also possible that the hat is simply a gift from the production team that Hardy received for his involvement in the Marvel world through his role as Venom. Whatever the case, it’s safe to say that fans are even more excited to see what Spider-Man has in store: No Way Home.
Hardy’s Spider-Man: No Going Home cap reveal happened after the actor made some interesting comments about Venom’s future on the big screen. “There’s a Venom-Verse, there’s a Spider-Verse, there are multiverses, there are all kinds of canon and history and mythology that we can explore sideways and forward in time,” Hardy said of the possible merging of multiverses. “I think with the right people and the right planning and the right audience feedback and understanding that the right decisions have to be made at the right time…”
Hardy has been very outspoken for some time about his desire to see Eddie Brock meet Peter Parker on screen, with the actor saying “it would be a crime not to try to direct some kind of relationship. I wouldn’t be doing the job if I wasn’t alert and open to every possibility or eventuality, or excited about it.” Rumours have been circulating for some time that Hardy’s Venom would appear in No Way Home, with many believing that the symbiote anti-hero was spotted in the latest trailer. Although many have dismissed the idea that we could see the villainous Lizard instead.
Venom 2 – The Vampire is scheduled to hit cinemas on 1 October 2021, with Spider-Man: No Turning Back on December 17, 2021, as part of the fourth phase of the MCU.
