Forza Horizon 5: new video of multiplayer modes, battle royale coming

The latest Livestream from Playground Games gives us a glimpse into the crazier multiplayer modes of Forza Horizon. We’re just around the corner from the premiere.

The premiere of Forza Horizon 5, the new instalment of Playground Games‘ open-world driving game, is getting closer and closer, this time taking us to Mexico and its landscapes. Following the previous previews of the new Forza campaign and car list, the British studio’s latest live stream gave us a glimpse into the multiplayer modes of Forza Horizon 5. And yes, that includes the battle royale mode introduced in the previous game in the series.

The first is an experience dubbed Horizon Open. This is the core multiplayer gameplay mode of Forza Horizon 5, which will be split into four categories: Open Racing, Open Drifting, Playground Games and The Eliminator. The latter will be familiar to Forza Horizon 4 players, as it’s a battle royale mode where the track gets smaller as time runs out.

Then there’s the Horizon Tour, which offers a variety of modes, events and adventures to enjoy with other players, including co-operative races of up to 6 players against AI drivers, as well as convoys to travel from race to race across the map. These two experiences are joined by the Horizon Arcade, which invites you to get involved on the go with a range of mini-games, from smashing piñatas with your car to hitting targets floating in the air and more.

Lastly, Forza Horizon 5 will add a community feature called “Gift Drops“, which will allow you to give or accept cars from other users you don’t know entirely selflessly. Forza Horizon 5 will be available on Xbox X Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on November 9.
