The Shadowrun Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022

Shadowrun Trilogy is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022 and will include all three games.

The Shadowrun franchise always had a bit of a bumpy road in gaming history. It had three games for NES and Sega consoles in the early 90s, then nothing until 2007 when Microsoft tried to do a weird online-only multiplayer shooter for the Xbox 360. The IP then was put to the back and eventually ended back at one of the creators of Shadowrun, Jordan Wiseman.

In 2015 Wiseman ran a successful Kickstarter to create a Shadowrun RPG for PC, and after that, two more games followed, plus an IOS and Mobile release. Finally, the franchise is getting a console release in 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.

The games take place in the far future, where magic and technology becomes intertwined, and it is a weird mix of a science fiction and dystopian fantasy future. The games take place in locations across the globe, including Seattle, Berlin, and Hong Kong, and it has an RPG dialogue system, and the combat is similar to an X-COM game.

The collection will include Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall Director’s Cut, and Shadowrun Hongkong.
