After the PC upgrades, the BloodRayne will also surface on consoles, but Ziggurat Interactive (the publisher) and Big Boat Interactive (the devs) haven’t announced an exact date until now…
The two BloodRayne games launched nearly two decades ago, and all we knew is that BloodRayne’s first two instalments will surface on some consoles (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch) this autumn. The PC upgraded versions run under a different subtitle: you can already find them if you look for the Terminal Cut versions. We also knew that Limited Run Games would produce a physical edition for all three consoles. But now, we can reveal the release date as well: November 18.
Here’s what we wrote a month ago: “The response to the Terminal Cut editions on PC has been tremendous. “Fans of the series are asking for us to bring BloodRayne to more platforms, and we are happy to give console players the update they have been asking for with these ReVamped editions,” said Ziggurat Interactive senior vice president of business development Michael Devine in a press release.
Here is an overview of the updated releases via Ziggurat Interactive: “BloodRayne: ReVamped and BloodRayne 2: ReVamped are enhanced editions of the original games for console players. The third-person horror action series BloodRayne introduced gamers to Rayne, a brutal half-vampire femme fatale travelling the world to foil Nazi plans, battle supernatural threats, and uncover more about her vampiric heritage. Featuring a unique protagonist, fast-action combat, vampiric powers, and a globe-spanning storyline,
BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2 offered a dynamic and visceral gameplay experience. Beloved by fans and critics alike, BloodRayne became a true cross-media phenomenon, spanning games, comics, and films across the early 2000s. Updated features of the ReVamped editions include support for higher display resolutions (up to 4K / 3840×2160), upscaled cinematic videos, improvements to lighting at the engine level, plus fully reprocessed lighting data, engine improvements to support uncompressed original textures, and improvements to effects such as reflections, water, fog, and shadows.”
So look for the two ReVamped BloodRayne games on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, and the Nintendo eShop from November 18.
