MOVIE NEWS – Actor Timothée Chalamet recently confirmed what many fans have already discovered by scouring the internet: he used to be a YouTuber!
Nominated for the 2018 Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Timothée Chalamet is one of the hottest actors in recent years for his performance in Call Me By Your Name. But the young French-American has not always been at the top of the box office, as he is now with Dune. He recently confirmed that he had an active YouTube channel in 2010. ModdedController360, as the name suggests, was a channel dedicated to modified Xbox 360 controllers:
they were painted by Timothée Chalamet himself!
See one of these videos, from 2010, where, in his plaid sweater and without showing his head, he presents one of these painted controllers he was working on:
Timothée Chalamet, nominated for the 2018 Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture for his performance in Call Me By Your Name, is one of the hottest actors of recent years. But the young French-American hasn’t always been at the top of the box office, as he is now with Dune. He recently confirmed that he had an active YouTube channel in 2010. ModdedController360, as the name suggests, was a channel dedicated to modified Xbox 360 controllers, painted by Timothée Chalamet.
He was fifteen years old at the time and was selling these custom controllers for ten dollars. The channel had about 10 000 subscribers at the end of September and now has more than 22 000 subscribers, and more than 492 000 people have viewed the three videos he posted. So the fan investigation is over, as it all started in 2018 when one of the actor’s fans forwarded the YouTube channel on his Instagram account, claiming that he was pretty sure it was him when he was young. The issue, which was picked up on Reddit a year and a half ago, was so intriguing that Motherboard – the tech site of Vice – published an “investigation” that gathered all the evidence suggesting it was indeed the actor. An interview published by Nate Hill on October 22 confirmed what many had assumed (see at 8 minutes).
By the way, Chalamet and Zendaya will also be appearing as Paul Atreides and Chani in Fortnite, as you can see in this video.
Finally, we’ll end our news with another picture of Timothée Chalamet reading – what else – Frank Herbert’s Dune on the New York subway!
“Muad’Dib!”
