MOVIE NEWS – The Paramount+ service will launch in Hungary next year, and this Xbox adaptation will be one of its trump cards.
At an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of Xbox, Paramount+ shared the first trailer for Halo, a series that aims to bring all the excitement of Bungie and Microsoft’s iconic game initially released on the first Xbox to the TV screen.
The video, leaked hours before the event by the streaming service, isn’t too rich in detail, but it gives a glimpse of the magic behind the IP, with the franchise’s theme song playing in the background as Master Chief (played by Pablo Schreiber) suits up for battle. You can hear Cortana greeting him.
This first teaser also confirms the series’ start next year on Paramount+, but no more details on the exact date have been revealed.
Paramount+ is a streaming service from ViacomCBS that launched in the US earlier this year, intending to bring it to Latin America later. It is not currently available in Hungary, although the media company has announced with Comcast that it will launch SkyShowtime, with Paramount+ and Peacock series, in most European countries, including Hungary, in 2022.
The Halo series is Microsoft’s first serious attempt to export the success of its IP to the small and big screen. Although we first heard about the adaptation almost a decade ago, and the producers include none other than Steven Spielberg (Amblin Television), it wasn’t until mid-2019 that filming began on the series. Now we can finally see the first teaser trailer.
