Michael Mando also talked about his character returning in Far Cry 6 as part of a DLC.
Far Cry 6 was released just over a month ago for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, with a familiar but equally strong offering to previous instalments. Ubisoft’s title continues to receive content, including the latest – and perhaps most anticipated – Vaas DLC, which is available to purchase now and sees you take on the role of the iconic villain.
The character rose to fame in Far Cry 3 thanks to his well-written character and the portrayal of Michael Mando behind him. The actor gave an interview to GamingBible to mark the release of the DLC, in which he revealed that a Vaas movie could be coming in the future.
“I have been thinking about it for a while. I spoke with Ubisoft in Italy a few years ago. We had coffee and I told [them] a couple of ideas that I had for a film,” explained the Mexican-born Canadian actor. “I have a couple of really great ideas I spoke about with Greg Russo who is really interested in Vaas as a character and making a film.”
“I spoke to some writers from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul about it, and there’s a lot of interest there. I’ve also spoken to producers here in Los Angeles that are interested.”
“I think if the fans really asked for it, I feel we could give it to them, right? I think we’re very close, we’ll see where it goes.”
We don’t know if and when the fans will get their wish, but in the meantime, here’s the sixth instalment on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Stadia. You can read our review of Far Cry 6 on the website.
