The Game Awards 2021: 4 or 5 Elden Ring-level game reveals to follow

Geoff Keighley continues to preview the big reveals that awaits us at The Game Awards gala this year

The Game Awards 2021 is shaping up to be a landmark event in the gaming industry; we know that year after year, but if we go by what its host and organiser have said in the last few days, we’re looking at the most outstanding edition of all.

After leaking demos of two new games and confirming that a game more than two-and-a-half years in development will be unveiled, Keighley has now doubled down and confirmed that we’ll see a similar level of four or five demos to the Elden Ring announcement at Summer Game Fest.

Geoff Keighley spoke to USA Today and, recalling the satisfaction he got from hosting Elden Ring’s reveal during the 2019 Summer Game Fest event, said there are going to be several announcements on that level.

“This year? Oh, God, there are probably four or five things of that level. I can’t wait to show people this stuff. Summer Game Fest was a new thing that I had created. The fact that FromSoftware bet on me and Summer Game Fest, where they could have done more traditional E3 stuff, that meant a lot to me. It was a huge honour to work with the From guys, so stay tuned, there may be more coming.”

We’ll see what’s in store for Thursday, December 9, when The Game Awards 2021 gala takes place in what is likely to be one of the highlights of the year for the gaming industry.
