Horizon Forbidden West Shows New Footage, Undiscovered Area And New Machine

Guerrilla’s Horizon Forbidden West features in the of Game Informer magazine

Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most anticipated PlayStation titles not only for the coming months but for Sony’s next generation. Following its appearance at The Game Awards and the release of its latest 4K trailer, which shows off its new machines, we have more material on the sequel to Aloy.

Guerrilla’s game is featured in the new issue of Game Informer magazine, which has it on the cover with some very distinctive artwork. As a teaser, the publication has shared a total of five new screenshots of the game that we hadn’t seen before, which you can check out at the bottom of the page.

In four of them, we see Aloy present on different stages. We’re told they are of new territory, the Daunt, which has a particular look to it, in the middle of a canyon on the eastern border of Sundom. This area is a chance for players to get up to speed with the mechanics, both familiar and newly implemented.

We can see a new type of machine in the remaining one, with the English name Burrower. It is a reconnaissance creature capable of digging tunnels in the ground and using them to surprise its enemies. When it detects danger, it emits a high-pitched sound that stuns its opponents and alerts the other machines.

Horizon Forbidden West is set for release on February 18, 2022, for PS4 and PS5. For the former, we’ve already seen footage showing that it will once again look great on the previous generation, and for PlayStation 5, in addition to all the videos and previews, we’ve recently learned just how much disc space it will take up. Horizon Forbidden West’s download on the next-gen console will weigh in at over 96GB, not counting the day one patch.
