The Witcher Season 2 Is A Huge Hit – Record-Breaking First Weekend On Netflix

MOVIE NEWS – The Witcher video game adaptation has already racked up hundreds of millions of hours of views!

A new season of The Witcher has arrived on Netflix last Friday, bringing fresh episodes to fans of Geralt and his adventures. Audiences got a sneak preview of the second season at the premiere in Madrid, but after the eight episodes were released, it seems they reacted with even more enthusiasm than expected.

The Witcher was one of the big winners on the streaming platform in its first weekend. According to Netflix’s global top ten…

…the second season has amassed over 142 million hours and tops the list.

In addition to the first episodes (released two years ago), viewing of subsequent episodes has also picked up. It seems that many users have now discovered the production, or at least been encouraged to watch it, as the first season is in second place with nearly 50 million hours watched, based on the numbers collected up to 19 December.

These are huge numbers in just three days. To give you a sense, Arcane, a series set in the League of Legends universe, debuted with roughly 30 million viewing hours. In fact, if you look at non-English language productions, the most-watched is La Casa de Papel (Money Heist), which this week is not even up to the second season, but only the first, also with 50 million views.

If you like the show, let us know how you like it in the comments! As our review shows, we also enjoyed the second season of The Witcher…
