Following the dismissal of Skull & Bones’ lead developer, Antoine Henry has announced his departure from Ubisoft Singapore.
Despite the new year, the Skull & Bones ordeal continues. The video game developed by Ubisoft Singapore has been plagued by problems, with the studio delaying the title several times and its image tarnished by allegations of sexual harassment against its director.
Hugues Ricour was finally fired from the company in November 2020. He was the department director, and it has now been learned that one of the co-directors is also leaving the project. Antoine Henry has announced on LinkedIn that he is leaving Ubisoft Singapore after working as a co-director and lead designer on the title.
“After 15 years, today is my last day” – Antoine Henry
The message was brief, with few details beyond saying goodbye to his colleagues. “Goodbye Ubisoft! After nearly 15 years, today was my last day,” Henry wrote. “I’m thankful for the people I’ve met and what they brought me professionally and personally. Hopefully I was able to give back a little bit.”
And we sincerely hope that this event is just another shoal in the stormy sea of Skull & Bones development and that the game will arrive in port at some point in the foreseeable future…
