Elden Ring: There’s no FromSoftware game without a character of its own (except the Armored Core series, which was rumoured over the weekend to come back with a new title with 6 in its name).
The Elden Ring network test allowed players to try out the still unfinished creation. As expected, it was limited, which also applies to the lack of a character creator, as there were five pre-made characters to choose from. The YouTube channel known as ER-SA didn’t seem to be bothered by such limitations, as there is a loophole in every demo, and they found it, allowing us to see how the Japanese team’s game lets us create our hero… but with caveats. Most of the text is not present, and many options don’t work correctly yet.
However, the character creator shows that there are ten classes to choose from, which is something of a standard after the Souls games (and Bloodborne). The video shows the Elden Ring equivalent of the Souls series, so this character has no armour, uses a club, a shield as a defensive tool. At the same time, his stats are mostly 10 everywhere (in return for being a glass cannon character: he can be knocked down fairly quickly, but he can hurt like hell). Maybe you can equip two clubs since another one is in his inventory. The video doesn’t miss the direct disfigurement either: if you want to make a monster, you can do that too…
In the case of Elden Ring, we’ve heard that the Demon’s Souls remake from Bluepoint Games and the now-defunct Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio set the graphical bar so high that FromSoftware felt they should match it. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see the results, as the game is set to launch on February 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
