MOVIE NEWS – Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor praises director Deborah Chow and hypses over Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker.
The much-anticipated Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi is now coming to Disney + in May, with returning star Ewan McGregor praising Deborah Chow and his knowledge of the Star Wars universe and hypeing Hayden Christensen formed a clash with Anakin Skywalker, stating that Obi-Wan Kenobi “will satisfy Star Wars fans.” Forbes only spoke to McGregor about his return to the role, which he hasn’t played since 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
“It was a great experience. Deborah Chow directed all the episodes and she’s very good. She directed some [episodes] of the Mandalorian and she’s a really great director. She really knows the world of Star Wars, inside and out, much better, like me. I just think Star Wars fans will really enjoy it. “
McGregor has long awaited the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi – the actor has always envisioned a story set between his younger Jedi Master and an aging version of Alec Guinness’s old Ben Kenobi from the original Star Wars trilogy.
“I’ve always felt like there’s a story between Episode III, where I ended up playing Obi-Wan in the movies, and Episode IV, where Alec Guinness Obi-Wan Kenobi. The [Obi-Wan Kenobi Series ] writers, Deb, me and everyone, I think they made a very good story. I think people will love it. “
Obi-Wan Kenobi will return to Disney + in May
It is now revealed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will arrive on Disney + on May 25, and in addition to announcing the release date, an impressive poster has also arrived promising the return of the beloved Jedi.
Not only will Obi-Wan Kenobi return, but he will also be joined by Anakin Skywalker, who will once again be played by Hayden Christensen. In the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has now turned into Darth Vader, will once again clash with enemies who have become friends with lightsabers, in a battle fought by Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy
“as the fighter of the century”
characterized, and several concept drawings presented the struggle as their truly personal clash.
Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place ten years after the end of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, and continues with an older, no doubt much more lonely Obi-Wan Kenobi, who is now in exile on Tatooine, looking after Luke Skywalker. The limited edition takes on the Star Wars hero for a much darker period than the audience might be used to, where it’s no longer safe to be a mere Jedi.
Starring Oby-Wan Kenobi, written by Joby Harold and directed by Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Whitesun Lars, and Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, Maya Erskine and Rory Ross, who have been cast in unannounced roles, will be the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi on May 25, 2022, and will consist of six episodes.
