Although it was one of the most sought after forms of transport by fans, it seems that the subway will remain outside Night City. So it’s clear that there will be no subway in Cyberpunk 2077, neither now nor in the future, as CD Projekt RED has ruled it out. And despite being one of the most sought-after forms of transport by fans, it seems that it will remain outside Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most controversial launches the video game industry has ever seen, but CD Projekt RED refuses to give up on the game and has already released a massive update with new features, a next-gen version and a free demo. Despite this, the Polish developer is still working to polish every corner of the adventure through Night City, and in some cases has been forced to drop ideas.
This time we’re talking about the Cyberpunk 2077 subway, which has already appeared in a promotional image and hinted that it could be used in the game. However, and although users have requested the introduction of this means of transport, CD Projekt RED has no plans to use this line to link the different areas of Night City.
Marcin Momot, CD Projekt RED’s Global Community Director, commented on Twitter: “Sorry to be a spoilsport, but that’s not the point. We have no plans to add the metro to the game.” This tweet was in response to a Cyberpunk 2077 screenshot that announced a construction zone, so players quickly started their theories around the subway.

So, with this transport mode out of the question, it seems that CD Projekt RED is focusing on other initiatives. Currently, the study is also focused on fixing all the issues that have been revealed in the PC and PS4 versions as a result of the latest update, as Night City has been updated with a lot of new features.
