This Elden Ring Player Beat The Boss Using The Ring Fit Controller [VIDEO]

It’s less than a week since Elden Ring was released, but one player has already defeated a boss using a rather unusual controller.

FromSoftware’s games have a reputation for being some of the hardest to play, and the company’s latest title Elden Ring is no different. One player in Elden Ring therefore took it upon himself to make the game even harder using an unconventional controller, with surprising results.

Beating FromSoftware’s games with non-standard controllers is not a new trend, as quite a few fans have managed to beat games with goofy controllers over the years. Last year, an Argentinian streamer beat Knight Artoria blindfolded while using an electric piano as a controller. Artorias is known to many as one of the most difficult bosses in the first Dark Souls game, which only makes his feat all the more impressive. Running it probably took a significant number of tries, but overcoming difficulty has become part of the series’ formula.

Recently, an Elden Ring player managed to defeat a wrestler using only a Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure Controller. The control scheme required the Twitch streamer to jog in place to move his character forward and squeeze the controller to attack. The boss that SuperLouis64 defeated was the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil, known for his unusual movement and attack patterns. This was an exceptionally impressive feat considering Elden Ring hadn’t even been released for a week.

The successful run came shortly after Hidetaka Miyazaki apologised to players who found Elden Ring too difficult. SuperLouis64 has shown that with enough time and perseverance, Elden Ring players are likely to be able to face any challenge. In the same interview, Miyazaki also stated that the enjoyment of difficult FromSoftware games comes from overcoming difficulty.

Other impressive FromSoftware runs include The Happy Hob, who beat Dark Souls 1-3, Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in a row without taking a single hit. The streamer had previously completed another similar feat, beating all DS games except Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, as that game had not yet been released. It will be interesting to see when The Happy Hob tries another Souls no-hit run with the addition of Elden Ring.

Another streamer also impressively beat a boss in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice blindfolded. The attempt was particularly impressive because the player had to memorize the voice cues to figure out where the boss was in order to defeat him, and luckily he did so with relative ease.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
