Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu again?

Samuel L. Jackson wants to play Mace Windu’s character in a Star Wars world again, he said.

Although there is no official confirmation yet, fans are hoping that Samuel L. Jackson will return to the Star Wars universe in the role of Mace Windu. In an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actor revealed that Bryce Dallas Howard (director of episodes in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett) asked him to play the character of Mace Windu again.

“Definitely [hold out hope for Mace Windu’s return]. There’s a huge history of people with one hand returning in Star Wars… The only person I’ve ever said that to, about coming back, was Bryce Dallas Howard, ’cause I just did a movie with her and she directs episodes of The Mandalorian. So, ‘You think you might be able to hook a brother up? You like me, right?’ And she’s like, ‘I love you! You’re amazing!’ So, ‘Put me back in there. Put me in, coach, I’m ready!’ I’ll learn to lightsaber left-handed, come on, hook me up.”

It was not the first time he talked about his return, he first mentioned the topic in 2015.

Since his character was killed in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith during a fight with Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), fans could ask how Bryce Dallas Howard could make his return to the story happen. However, it isn’t impossible since Windu’s real death was not shown directly on the screen.

Temuera Morrison, appearing in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett as the character of Boba Fett expressed that revenge on Mace Windu for the death of his father would be an interesting storyline:

“I owe him big time for my dad. He’s done. He’s done. I’ve got my eye on him. He’s top of the list, in fact.”

It is a possibility for Lucasfilm to go on with the second season of The Book of Boba Fett, where the two enemies could meet again.
