Star Wars: Andor: Could The Premiere Date Be Leaked?!

MOVIE NEWS – The upcoming Rogue One prequel series Andor is expected to debut sometime this summer after Ms. Marvel.

While several Marvel and Star Wars projects have already been confirmed to premiere this year, Star Wars: Andor, the prequel series to Rogue One, has yet to receive an official release date. The following related production to premiere on Disney+ is the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which will finally arrive on May 25th. Now that it’s been revealed that Ms. Marvel will premiere in June this year, it’s more than likely that Andor will premiere sometime between Kenobi and the third season of The Mandalorian.

According to a recent report from Bespin Bulletin, the series will premiere sometime in August on Disney+

Some believe that the upcoming prequel series will premiere even earlier, possibly in the second half of July. From what fans have seen so far with the recent Marvel and Star Wars projects on Disney+, the premiere of weekly episodes never overlap. “Ms. Marvel’ kicks off on June 8th. Andor will be the next tentpole Disney+ series after Ms. Marvel. I always heard August, and I won’t be surprised if it’s still there even though Ms. Marvel is coming slightly earlier than Disney previously mentioned.”

Star Wars: Andor is being produced by Tony Gilroy. The series will serve as a prequel to Rogue One, which premiered in 2016. The plot will follow the character of Cassian Andor and take place five years before the events of the original film. Diego Luna will reprise his character from Rogue One but will also executive produce the prequel series. Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Genevieve O’Reilly will also star in the upcoming production.

Although an exact release date for the series has not yet been confirmed, it has been revealed that it will debut sometime this year. It was initially scheduled to premiere in 2021 before production was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The first season will consist of 12 episodes in total and will be available exclusively on Disney+. However, the good news is that a second season has been signed before the series premiere.
