Taylor Hawkins Dies At 50 – Foo Fighters Drummer And Star Of Studio 666 Passes Away

MOVIE NEWS – Taylor Hawkins has just finished their band’s horror film, Studio 666, passed away today at 50.

On Friday, drummer of Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, passed away at 50. His band members announced Hawkins’ death, and there isn’t any info about what caused his death as his members didn’t mention anything.

They shared the following tweet:

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginable difficult time,”

Hawkins’ band members weren’t the only ones who mourned the drummer. His inspiration, the iconic drummer of The Beatles, Ringo Starr, wrote: “God bless Taylor peace and love to all his family and the band peace and love.”

Born as Oliver Taylor Hawkins, the drummer started his musical career with Alanis Morissette’s band in the 90s; he had two tours with the singer and appeared on some of her music videos. Later, his friend told him that Foo Fighters is looking for a new drummer; that’s where his long future with Foo Fighters began. He was still an active member of the band; he even performed with them at the Lollapalooza Argentina festival on March 20, days before his death.

Taylor Hawkins also had a side project named Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, making him release three albums (2006, 2010, 2019). Besides that, he teamed up with Jane’s Addiction members Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney (+ Pat Smear on additional guitar) to form the supergroup NHC and played the drums in their upcoming album, which will be released this year.

But Taylor Hawkins didn’t only appear on concerts and music videos. The drummer was also a protagonist of the horror-comedy film Studio 666, directed by B.J. McDonnell. The film featured the members of Foo Fighters, as Dave Grohl gets possessed by an evil entity and endangers the rest of the group. Ironically, Hawkins’ death scene was a really memorable scene…

He also appeared in two music documentaries: Foo Fighters: Back and Forth (2011) and Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways (2014). Besides that, he played Iggy Pop in 2013’s CBGB and appeared on Morning Show as well.

Rest in Peace, Taylor Hawkins!
