Bandai Namco Wants Brandon Sanderson? The Writer Allegedly Already Has An Idea For “Soulsborne” [VIDEO]

Mistborn series author Brandon Sanderson received a box of Elden Ring gifts and a message from the publisher.

Brandon Sanderson can finally be satisfied: the success of the Elden Ring has opened doors he had been knocking on in vain. Ever since FromSoftware announced Hidetaka Miyazaki’s new game, one name has accompanied the Japanese creator: George R. R. Martin, author of the popular A Song of Ice and Fire literary series.

The choice of the author who inspired Game of Thrones for the Elden Ring was joked about by Brandon Sanderson, the author best known for his Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive books, and is a big fan of video games. Sanderson shared his passion for FromSoftware’s titles, and it seems that this has not gone unnoticed at Bandai Namco.

As shared by VGC, Sanderson explained in a live stream that he received a large package from Bandai Namco containing Elden Ring items, including a sword and a cape, as well as other FromSotware title merchandise and a message from the publisher. In it…

…Bandai Namco expressed interest in “doing something together”, and the writer shared this interest.

Sanderson confessed that his working method meant that he would create concepts long before the project started, citing the Magic: The Gathering storyline as an example, which he spent four years working on before being approached. Likewise, Sanderson explained that he was thinking of a ‘Soulsborne’ type game for which he had ideas. The writer announced late last year that he had been working on a video game for years, which is expected to be announced later this year.
