The Last Of Us PS5 Remake Coming Soon – Will It Be Coming To PC?! [VIDEO]

The Last of Us PS5 remake has released new screenshots and videos comparing the 2014 PS4 game The Last of Us Remastered graphics.

Although leaked prematurely, the reveal of The Last of Us PS5 remake was one of the most significant announcements of Summer Game Fest. It’s a remastered version of the original Last of Us game, featuring new controls, improved enemy AI, 60 frames per second and other improvements that will allow it to take full advantage of the added horsepower of the PlayStation 5. To really give a sense of what a colossal improvement The Last of Us PS5 remake is, side-by-side comparisons were shown after the unveiling.

Shortly after the debut of The Last of Us PS5 remake trailer, images were shown comparing the remake’s graphics to the 2014 Last of Us Remastered.

The Last of Us Remastered brought the original game to PlayStation 4 with its updates, but now the PS5 remake of The Last of Us, officially titled The Last of Us Part 1, is taking it to the next level.

For the comparison images, Naughty Dog used scenes of the original Last of Us game’s main characters, Ellie and Joel. The improvement is immediately striking, with the new versions of Ellie and Joel looking more detailed and realistic than their 2014 counterparts. These visual improvements seem to cover every aspect of The Last of Us on PS5, so fans should be excited to get their hands on the game later this year.

The Last of Us PS5 remake has a release date of September 2.

However, it has also been announced that the game is also in development for PC. No release date has been announced for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1, but we do know that it will be released sometime after the PS5 version. Based on how the PC version of Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection has been handled, it’s likely that PC gamers will have to wait a few months to get their hands on the game, although nothing concrete has been announced at the time of writing.

In addition to this, it has also been confirmed that Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, who play Ellie and Joel in the games, will be starring in the upcoming Last of Us TV series on HBO.

Will the multiplayer return?

As well as confirming the development of The Last of Us PS5 remake with a first trailer at Summer Game Fest, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann has announced another major news. The long-awaited multiplayer mode for The Last of Us: Part 2 is in the works, and it’s revealed that it will not just be a single mode but a standalone experience.

“It’s no secret that many of you are not only drawn to The Last of Us’ stories but also the game’s original Factions multiplayer. Since The Last of Us Factions’ release almost a decade ago, dedicated players have been vocal about an expansion upon that offering. However, we can finally announce that we’re creating something much larger than a mode. We’re thrilled to share a piece of concept art from our upcoming multiplayer experience, which is an extremely ambitious undertaking,” Druckmann said in the statement.

“We aim to make our newest entry into multiplayer inviting to new players while still a thrilling challenge for more of our seasoned fans.”

“There will be more news to come next year, and we cannot wait to introduce you to the team behind this new experience,” he concluded.

So we’ll have to wait for more specific details on the multiplayer mode, but at least we know that development is still underway, and the in-house team at PlayStation Studios is giving it their all.
