Can Beyond Good And Evil 2 Finally Be Finished?!

Despite rumours of torturous development and cancellation, Ubisoft still wants fans to know that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in the works.

Fans were initially excited when the action-adventure game Beyond Good and Evil sequel was announced. The second instalment was officially unveiled at Ubisoft’s E3 conference in 2017, with plenty of hints beforehand. The game aims to offer players a different experience from the original, with plenty of RPG elements and a more ambitious approach to gameplay and graphics. However, since the reveal of Beyond Good and Evil 2, fans have found a lot of doubt and uncertainty about the development.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is one of many games that are said to be languishing in “development hell”, having been in the works for over a decade.

Many fans are almost ready to hear that the upcoming RPG has been cancelled, but Ubisoft still believes that Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be released, even mentioning it at a recent annual Q&A meeting. While it’s not surprising that the game came up during the discussion, some fans will be happy to hear what Ubisoft said about it.

According to Ubisoft, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently on the list of announced projects in active development. Of course, we knew it was in the works before, but to hear that it is in active development means that the game hasn’t been put on hold, so we can only hope that it will eventually be finished.

A job posting in early 2022 led some fans to believe that Beyond Good and Evil 2 might be in the final stages of development.

While this seems somewhat optimistic, especially since Ubisoft claims that the game is in active development, meaning there is still work to be done, it doesn’t seem entirely out of the question that some new content related to the game is on the way. Be it a cinematic trailer, gameplay or something else; many are just glad that the game isn’t on the verge of cancellation.

With Ubisoft’s Forward launch in September 2022, this could be the perfect time for Beyond Good and Evil 2 news to emerge. Even if there is nothing ready to show off the game until Ubisoft confirms that they are still working on it, fans can put cancellation fears aside for now.
