Skull & Bones: More Rumours Confirmed By Ubisoft [VIDEO]

The French publisher kicked off September’s Ubisoft Forward with a new reveal of the long-rumoured pirate game.

For example, during last night’s showcase, we learned what we already suspected through the age rating procedures: the game is not coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The two 2013 consoles have also been replaced by two cloud platforms that Ubisoft, perhaps inexplicably, has been pushing (where on one of them, almost only the company led by Yves Guillemot is publishing AAA games anymore, it’s so stale). The other thing is the release date (rumours haven’t confirmed the exact date, but the error here isn’t that significant either).

“Enter the perilous paradise of Skull and Bones, inspired by the Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy, as you overcome the odds and rise from an outcast to an infamous pirate. Craft a variety of unique ships to survive, thrive, and rule in an immersive world that introduces new challenges and features every season.

Engage in thrilling naval combat: choose how you want to take on the seas. Sail solo or team up with two friends to watch your back in either player-versus-environment or player-versus-environment-versus-player. Customize your ship to match your playstyle: craft up to 12 ships and customize them with various weapons and armour to maximize your chances for success. Rise from outcast to pirate kingpin: grow your infamy to access more resources and opportunities as you take on riskier contracts to gain the most loot.”

Skull & Bones, developed by Ubisoft Singapore, will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), Google Stadia and Amazon Luna on November 8. For our pre-order, we’ll receive a costume and fireworks; with the purchase of the 90 USD/EUR Premium Edition, we’ll receive a costume and ship-related extras (helm, trophy, decorations), a one-time use smuggler pass, a digital art book and soundtrack, and two extra missions (The Ashen Corsair, Bloody Bones’ Legacy).
