Capcom revealed more details about the expanded Resident Evil Village re-release’s additional contents.

In The Mercenaries Additional Orders, Ethan Winters, the protagonist of the base game and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, three other characters will join him. Quoting Capcom, “Lady Dimitrescu looms large over enemies in this action-packed mode, where she brings her nine-foot stature to bear against any Lycans or other foes unfortunate enough to cross her path. In combat, Lady Dimitrescu builds a Thrill meter by slicing adversaries to ribbons with her razor-sharp talons. It allows her to perform particular actions like slamming down hostiles or summoning her daughters.

Lord Karl Heisenberg possesses his electrifying powers. Equipped with a massive hammer and the ability to manipulate magnetic currents, Heisenberg can put a charge into his attacks. The terrifying creations from Heisenberg’s factory, Soldat Jets, also join him in the fray – but be mindful not to get caught in the crossfire of their self-destructive assaults. Heisenberg can also trade off movement speed to see what enemies are made of by pulling them in with his magnetic field or put on a show everyone can enjoy by slinging scrap metal, like saw blades, their way. Chris Redfield also S.T.A.R.S. in “The Mercenaries Additional Orders.” The legendary BSAA agent packs a serious straight punch that can not only get him out of situations where he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place, but it builds up his Onslaught gauge in a hurry as well. When Onslaught is active, Chris moves and reloads with lightning speed. Chris can also request support from the Hound Wolf Squad by using his target locator to pinpoint enemy positions and call in support strikes.” They picked up on the Resident Evil 5 boulder smashing meme. And as for the rest of the game, Capcom’s press release reads, “Experience survival horror like never before in Resident Evil Village, the award-winning eighth main instalment in the genre-defining Resident Evil franchise. After the horrifying events of the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the adventure follows the journey of Ethan Winters to a remote snow-capped village filled with a diverse cast of terrifying enemies. After a devastating encounter with Resident Evil series hero Chris Redfield, Ethan pursues him in search of answers but finds himself in an entirely new nightmare.

Resident Evil Village Gold Edition is a bundle of the original game and the highly anticipated “Winters’ Expansion” downloadable content, both of which launch on October 28, 2022. The “Winters’ Expansion” includes a new way to enjoy the entire campaign in “Third-Person Mode,” plus “The Mercenaries Additional Orders,” a significant update for the action-packed “The Mercenaries” mode that introduces new playable characters, and finally, a continuation of the story arrives in “Shadows of Rose,” which picks up the plot 16 years after the conclusion of the main game. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition also includes a voucher for the “Resident Evil Village Trauma Pack.””

Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which got a new trailer and images, will launch on October 28 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
