Although not officially confirmed, it looks like Xbox Game Pass may soon lose one of its most successful games.
Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service is full of high-quality games, although one of the highest-rated titles fans can check out is the indie hit Hades. The stunningly atmospheric roguelike is actually one of the highest-rated games ever made, making it one of the best reasons to have an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Sadly, however, Hades may be leaving Xbox Game Pass, so those who haven’t played the game yet should definitely try it while they still can.
It’s worth pointing out that it’s not yet confirmed that Hades is indeed leaving Xbox Game Pass.
However, a leak earlier this year suggested that Hades will be taken off Game Pass in August 2022. Not incidentally, Xbox Game Pass games typically stay on the service for a year at a time. Hades was added to the service in August 2021, so it makes sense that it would be removed soon.
The good news is that it’s sure to stay around past the middle of the month. Microsoft has confirmed just five games that will be leaving Game Pass on August 15, and thankfully Hades isn’t one of them. However, the company will remove the games from Xbox Game Pass in two batches, with the second wave of removals taking place on the last day of the month. Hades may be part of the second wave of removals on August 31, but fans will have to wait a few more weeks to find out whether or not that’s the case.
Until a contrary announcement is made, it’s probably wiser to be prepared for Hades to be removed from Xbox Game Pass in the near future.
With that in mind, those who haven’t played it yet may want to give it a try as soon as possible. Hades is a long game, but if you start it now, you’ll have plenty of time to finish it before it’s removed from Game Pass.
Plus, Hades is available at a discount for a limited time. Like other games on Game Pass, Hades can be purchased at a 20% discount.
