2K has released a trailer for PGA Tour 2K23, confirming pre-orders, a release date and the headlining athlete, Tiger Woods.

2K has released a new trailer for its golf game franchise, PGA Tour 2K23, featuring a star-studded guest appearance. The release date trailer features Hollywood star Chris McDonald, known for his role as Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, and the face of this year’s PGA Tour 2K23, Tiger Woods, perched on a Game of Thrones-inspired throne.

The trailer reveals not only that Tiger Woods will replace Justin Thomas as the cover athlete and that PGA Tour 2K23 will officially launch in October but also that pre-orders will start immediately.

The standard version of PGA Tour 2K23 will hit stores on October 14, while the two special editions, the Deluxe Edition and Tiger Woods Edition, will be available from October 11. All game versions offer dual support for both generations of gaming consoles, whether PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

The Deluxe Edition includes three different expansion packs for $99.99. The Deluxe Bonus Pack includes 1,300 virtual currencies to bet with PGA Tour 2K23 players, a hockey stick putter, a gold baseball cap, a gold golf glove and 3 rare golf ball sleeves. The Michael Jordan Bonus Pack makes the legendary basketball player available as a playable character and offers 4 common golf ball sleeves, while the Golden Club Pack treats prospective buyers to a gold driver, a gold putter and four uncommon golf ball sleeves.

The real fruit of 2K’s deal with Tiger Woods is the Tiger Woods Edition, which includes all the goodies of the Deluxe Edition and adds Tiger Woods-themed customizations in two separate packs.

The $119.99 special edition adds a Tiger Woods TaylorMade racquet set, a Tiger Woods t-shirt, three epic golf ball sleeves, a red t-shirt, black pants, a black hat, Tiger Woods golf shoes and belt, and Tiger Bridgestone branded golf balls. The $69.99 Standard Edition includes the Golden Club Pack, and all pre-orders include a Michael Jordan Bonus Pack.

This is the first time Tiger Woods has been featured on the cover of a PGA game since Rory McIlroy replaced him on the EA PGA Tour in 2015. Now Tiger Woods joins a roster of professional golfers featured in PGA Tour 2K23 that includes PGA and LPGA stars such as Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa and Will Zalatoris. 2K has also licensed the most famous golf courses for the game.
