Counter-Strike Global Offensive has a mod that, on the one hand, no one expected; on the other hand, it sounds rather idiotic and yet it’s been implemented…
This mod for Counter-Strike Global Offensive (shortened to CS:GO onwards) is the work of Two Random Dudes, Luke Millanta and Dieter Stassen. Here, we are not on foot but in go-karts, and the fights are not left out. Millanta says we should imagine playing Rocket League in CS:GO, but here you can shoot your rivals with real rockets.
“Instead of playing as soldiers or humans, you take the form of a rocket-firing go-kart. Each team battles it out from here to capture the other team’s flag and return it to their base. Every time they do it, they score a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Throughout the map, there are speed boosters, ammo (rockets), teleporters, and health kits and boosters,” says Millanta. So the game is built on the CTF or Capture the Flag mode. Since CTF has become a staple of Unreal Tournament and Quake (it’s even in the Quake remaster!), it’s no wonder Counter-Strike hasn’t abandoned it.
In addition to rockets, there’s also a slamming attack that you can deploy when you’re in the air and press the jump button there. You also have to slam on the other team’s base because that’s how you take the flag from them, and then you do the same at your base to get the point. It looks a bit silly, but you can’t take all that seriously because there’s already been Squid Game, Fall Guys, Fortnite building, and the reimagining of Counter-Strike 1.6, Classic Offensive. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Below you can watch a video of CSGO Kart, but for those who might want to play it, no problem: you can find the mod on Steam Workshop by clicking here.
