MOVIE NEWS – The Medium project will be overseen by Tomasz Bagiński, executive producer of Netflix’s The Witcher.
The Medium’s developer, Bloober Team, announced Tuesday that it had signed a cooperation agreement with Platige Image to adapt the horror game for TV. The project will be overseen by Tomasz Bagiński, executive producer of Netflix’s The Witcher series.
The announcement was published on the Polish studio’s official blog, where president Piotr Babieno made some comments. He stressed that this is “the perfect time for such adaptations”, citing Netflix series such as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Arcane as examples.
The story told in the game has been appreciated by gamers, and now more people can hear about it.
The recent success of game-based streaming platforms such as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Arcane have shown that this is the perfect time for such productions.
The horror game will be released in January 2021 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will then arrive on PS5 in September 2021, and we tested it. As the series has only just been confirmed, it may be a while before the first official information is revealed.
The Medium stars Marianne, who lives in two worlds: our own and a hostile spirit world.
At the beginning of the game, Marianne receives a strange vision: a little girl who has been murdered in a pond.
She discovers the truth behind the vision in an abandoned hotel. When she gets there, she discovers that many years ago, the place was the scene of a terrible tragedy and harbours a mystery that only a medium can solve.
