Modern Warfare 2: Some Can’t Access The Early Access Campaign Because Of A Glitch?!

A bug has prevented players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from accessing the early access version of the single-player campaign.

Some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have been banned from early access to the game’s single-player campaign. Although the game doesn’t arrive until the 28th, pre-orderers will still be able to play the game’s campaign via Early Access. Needless to say, some gamers were surprised to find that Activision has banned them from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s servers, including the early access campaign window.

The multiplayer mode is not part of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign’s early access offer for pre-orderers.

The idea may be that Call of Duty fans can complete the campaign before the full launch. Then spend all their time playing multiplayer with friends. However, since the discs have not yet been mailed out, the early access campaign will be conducted online. Therefore, Activision’s ban could theoretically mean that access to the single-player campaign will also be banned.

According to Reddit user Bender99342, this is exactly what happened to him. He posted a thread on the ModernWarfareII subreddit and a screenshot as evidence. The screenshot shows that when accessing the new Call of Duty campaign early, they received a “Connection Failed” error message. The error explained that the player was “permanently banned” from playing on the servers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The initial reaction to the post understandably believes that this can only be a bug.

This is because a possible ban is utterly pointless concerning the single-player campaign. Others correctly point out that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign servers are running online. These support the RICOCHET anti-cheat system, so bans can come through as if you were playing in multiplayer mode.

Bender99342, of course, claims he didn’t cheat. He explained that he played MW2 on Steam Ceiling when the game crashed due to a bug. When he returned, he could no longer log in. The only explanation he can think of is that the League of Legends Blitz app was running in the background, which RICOCHET could have seen as a potential risk.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players may be banned for overly aggressive behaviour by RICOCHET.

Of course, it could also be due to an unusual bug. Or it could be that the player cheated in a single-player game, and Activision no longer allows it. For now, we are at a loss as to what to do.
