MOVIE NEWS – Puss in Boots, the jackass, who was one of the favorite characters in the Shrek universe, will soon return to the cinema screen, which is why he got independent films.

However, this Boots is not the same as the old one, because he has evolved a lot in the last almost twenty years, that is, since he appeared in Shrek 2. “We envisioned Bootstrap as the world’s first modern celebrity,” producer Mark Swift, who is writing the new adventure Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, explained to Variety. “A kind of rock star celebrity like Mick Jagger.” He lives to be adored by the crowd, he always wants to be the center of attention, and his ego is as big as a two-door wardrobe.”

“At the same time, we are also touching on more serious topics,” added director Joel Crawford. – Puss in Boots insists that he has already used up eight of his nine lives and is touched by the breath of death. Of course, he wants to do something against the Grim Reaper coming for him, and this is the engine of the effort and action.”

The creators realize that, in family films, they rarely deal with the theme of ‘death is coming for us’, and they don’t usually reimagine the Big Bad Wolf of fairy tales as the Grim Reaper either. “We felt that so much freedom was given to us in order to rethink this fairytale world a bit, and moreover, today’s technology is so advanced that we can create a more fantastic spectacle than before, so we don’t push these harder topics directly in the viewer’s face.”
