During The Game Awards 2022 game show, Prime Matter and Mad Head Games presented the first gameplay trailer for Scars Above. Along with the trailer for the third-person sci-fi shooter action-adventure, we’ve also got the official release date!

Players don the space boots of astronaut and scientist Dr. Kate Ward, who is sent to investigate a colossal and mysterious alien structure, the Metahedron, that has suddenly appeared in Earth’s orbit. Things don’t go as planned and the Metahedron sends Kate and her team through space to a mysterious extrasolar planet. Waking up alone in a strange, hostile world and determined to survive, Kate sets out to find her crew and unravel the mystery of how they got to this alien world and exactly where they are.

Kate examines her environment by scanning and analyzing the alien flora and fauna of the dangerous planet, then uses her knowledge to create various elemental weapons, gadgets and consumables to survive. As she hunts for her team, Kate must rely on her craft and skill and use the environment to her advantage to defeat the monsters that populate this strange world. Still, he perseveres as he tries to unravel the mystery of an ancient alien civilization and uncover the truth about what happened to him and his team.

By the way, the Sony exclusive Returnal (which will also have a PC version next year), Scars Above will be released on February 28, 2023 for PC via Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Following the release of the new gameplay trailer, a free demo was also released on Steam for players to check out the game’s prologue and first chapter.
